To receive funding a student must:

Declare their chosen certificate plan
Live in the state of Texas
Returning students must also have a minimum 2.5 GPA in any courses previously taken pertaining to their certificate program

This scholarship is funded through a grant awarded to UTPB by the U.S. Department of Education's Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE). Funding is competitive, capped and based on available funding. The scholarship is a last-dollar award, meaning it will be applied to your outstanding balance after all other financial aid and funding sources have been applied. Any funds exceeding your remaining balance will not be refunded directly to the student.

The scholarship is renewable if certificate is not completed in one semester. Please note that funding will not cover certificates that are not completed within 2 semesters and will not cover re-takes in any course. In order to be eligible for renewal, a student must meet the following criteria:

Maintain a minimum 2.50 GPA in certificate courses
Must have completed at least 50% of coursework
Check in with Credentialing Coordinator to discuss progress.

If awarded this scholarship, we ask that you maintain communication with the BCBC Team to provide updates on employment
